A public performance means making music, video clips or other audio-visual fixations (i.e. copyrighted work, performances and fixations) available in public places, as opposed to the use for private purposes (e.g. within a circle of family). This category covers the use of pre-recorded music or video clips (e.g. from a CD or DVD player) or making television or radio programming available using a technical device (such as a TV set, radio or computer).
