Public performance

(RESTAURANTS, SHOPS, CLUBS ETC)

What are public productions and who is obliged to pay the reward?

A public performance means making music, video clips or other audio-visual fixations (i.e. copyrighted work, performances and fixations) available in public places, as opposed to the use for private purposes (e.g. within a circle of family). This category covers the use of pre-recorded music or video clips (e.g. from a CD or DVD player) or making television or radio programming available using a technical device (such as a TV set, radio or computer).

One-stop shop for public performances

Collective management organizations – OSA, INTERGRAM, DILIA, OOA-S and OAZA – have decided to meet the requests of the public, namely users operating restaurants, bars, shops, services or accommodation facilities and they established a single point of contact, which is OSA – Ochranný svaz autorský pro práva k dílům hudebním, z.s. It is sufficient if you enter into one license agreement – through OSA on behalf of all other organizations mentioned above.
