Heirs of Rights
Have you inherited the rights of a performing artist or producer? These rights are subject to inheritance and must be duly settled within probate proceedings before the heir can begin to exercise them. The same procedure for concluding agreement on the management of rights applies to heirs as to the original rightsholders (artists or producers). However, you must additionally provide a final and binding decision on the inheritance settlement.
An heir may claim remuneration from inherited rights only after signing an agreement on the management of rights to performer‘s artistic performances or for producers with Intergram. In practice, we often encounter errors in inheritance proceedings, such as omissions by the notary of the performing artist's or producer's rights. In such cases, Intergram cannot enter into a contract with the heir until all such errors have been corrected. This often leads to unnecessary delays and sometimes financial costs.
