ISRC

The structure of ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) comprises 12 alphanumeric characters, formed of three code elements:

  • producer code (prefix): two letters followed by three alphanumeric characters (total 5). The prefix is assigned by Intergram upon request,

  • year code: the last two digits of the year in which the ISRC was assigned. This is designated by the producer, typically at the final mastering stage, and should be embedded in the recording’s metadata,

  • designation code: five digits assigned by the producer. Codes must be assigned in sequential order within a calendar year (e.g., “00002” follows “00001”) and cannot be reused in the same year.

  • CZA00

    producer code (5 total)

  • 23

    Year code (2 numerals)

  • 00001

    designation code (5 numerals)

Assigning an ISRC Producer Code

  • 1

A request for an ISRC producer prefix is part of the Agreement on the management of rights for producers of phonograms.

  • 2

If you don’t wish to sign a contract (note that you will not be eligible for remuneration without a contract), you can submit a request for an ISRC assignment:

    • a

      by sending e-mail to vyrobci@integram.cz,

    • b

      by data mailbox (zwrm6gv),

    • c

      by post,

    • d

      in person at Intergram.

  • 3

You will receive your assigned ISRC producer code (your personal prefix), which is used to generate ISRCs for your recordings and to complete the recording protocol form.

  • 4

Each producer must ensure that ISRCs are not duplicated and should maintain a personal record of all ISRCs. It is also essential to embed the ISRC in the published recording’s metadata (e.g., in the export file).

  • 5

Use the ISRCs you generate to register your recordings.

  • 6

You can search registered ISRCs in the database here.

Important Notice

There are two separate codes for producers of phonograms and producers of audiovisual fixations (music videos).

Recording Protocol

By submitting the Recording Protocol (form for reporting tracks), you officially register your recordings with Intergram and help ensure accurate distribution of shares among performing artists for the use of those recordings. The form should be completed by artists in collaboration with the producers.

How to Fill Out and Submit the Recording Protocol
  • 1

Pokud jste výkonným umělcem, vyplňte nahrávací protokol (v pdf formátu) pro každou nahrávku (track) zvlášť.

  • 2

Do not fill out the form directly in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.). Always download it to your device and fill it out in a PDF reader (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader).

  • 3

    You can submit the form:

    • a

by Portal – if the protocol was filled in by the producer or an authorized representative of an ensemble, no individual signatures are required,

    • b

by data mailbox (zwrm6gv) – if sent from a registered producer’s data box, signatures are not required,

    • c

by sending e-mail to vyrobci@intergram.cz –  if sent from a registered e-mail and electronic communication was agreed upon in the contract, no signatures are required,

    • d

by post – if submitted by an authorized representative of an ensemble of the registered producer, only their signature is needed. In other cases, signatures of all involved artists are required,

    • d

      in person at Intergram.

  • 4

If you are a producer or an authorized representative of an ensemble, you may use an Excel form for batch import of multiple recording protocols.

Important Notice

If ISRCs have already been assigned to your recordings (e.g., by an aggregator during streaming platform upload), do not generate new ISRCs. Always use the existing codes in the recording protocol.

Online repertoire registration

Electronic registration reduces administration, prevents errors, and speeds up remuneration payments – which is why we recommend it as the default option for all new titles. Traditional methods of registration (submission of Recording Protocols and Catalogues of Producer) remain valid.

  • 1

    Log in to the Portál.

  • 2

Under the "My Recordings" tab, select your role as a Producer or Performer and click on the “Register a New Recording” button. Then choose one of the following registration options:

    • a

Add a recording to the Catalogue of Producer and also complete the recording protocol – this option registers both producers’ rights and the performances of all artists in one step (available to producers).

    • b

Add a recording to the Catalogue of Producer– registers only the producers’ rights; it is sufficient to list the main artist and at least one lineup member (available to producers).

    • c

Complete the recording protocol – registers only the performances of performing artists (available to producers, artists, and ensemble representatives). Artists who are not producers or ensemble representatives can only register recordings with lower data relevance.

Catalogue of Producer

The Catalogue of Producer is used to register the producer’s rights to individual recordings. It should always include all recordings for which the producer holds rights in the given calendar year. The deadline for submitting catalogues for the previous calendar year is 28 February.

You can deliver the catalogue:

Important note:

Submitting a Recording Protocol does not constitute registration of the producer’s rights. Only the Catalogue of Producer serves this purpose.
